Do the pens need to dry before we hang them?
Give each ornament a few minutes before handling. The color sets quickly on sanded wood, so you can usually hang them the same afternoon.

What age is this good for?
Kids around 5 and up can paint on their own. Younger ones do well with a grown-up holding the ornament steady while they color.

Can we seal them so the color lasts?
You don't have to. If you want extra protection for long-term storage, a light coat of clear craft sealer works fine once the color is fully dry.

Do we have to use the shapes for the tree only?

How to use

• Step 1: Lay the wooden shapes on a flat surface. A placemat or sheet of paper keeps the table clean.
• Step 2: Shake each pen and press the tip down on scrap paper for 1–2 seconds until the color flows.
• Step 3: Color the shape, then let it sit a few minutes to dry.
• Step 4: Thread the cord through the hole, add a bell if you like, and tie a knot.
